Under Musical Director Ralph Woodward, the Fairhaven Singers has become one of Cambridge’s leading chamber choirs. Spanning eight centuries, from the sacred to the secular, their diverse repertoire has delighted audiences in Cambridge and across Europe. Their concerts range widely in mood and style, from intimate evenings of a cappella music to major choral-orchestral works with world-class soloists. Known for their innovative programming and performances of the highest calibre, the Fairhaven Singers have earned a distinctive place in a city known for the vitality and richness of its choral tradition.  The most expert listener will find something new at a Fairhaven Singers concert, while the new enthusiast can enjoy an exciting introduction to choral music.

The Fairhaven Singers are proud to unveil another exciting and varied concert season. The first concert of the season, Joy and Woe are woven fine, contrasts songs of joy with music of mourning for the deaths of children, culminating in Herbert Howells’ stunningly emotional Requiem. Their popular Christmas and July concerts set well-loved choral classics alongside unexpected gems, evoking the magic and mystery of the Christmas season and the enchanting glow of midsummer nights. In March the choir will perform Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Ešenvalds’ unforgettably powerful Passion and Resurrection in St John’s College Chapel with the Brandenburg Sinfonia. Come and be a part of it!
